Fall Programs

The MetroLacrosse fall lacrosse season is designed for players that are new to the sport of lacrosse to learn the fundamental stick skills and have a fun experience learning how to play the game, and for current MetroLacrosse participants to continue playing the sport and improving their skills in the off-season.

 

Boys and Girls Youth Fall Season (3rd-8th grade)

Fall season is 6-7 weeks long with practices twice per week as well as 2 Saturday morning events (games or clinics with a local college).  Sessions are held at your local field on Tuesday and Thursday in Dorchester under the lights at Ronan Park (135 Adams Street) and on Monday and Wednesday in Chelsea.  This is a great chance for new participants to learn the basics of the game and for returners to sharpen their skills! Dates: September 11th—November 4th, 2017
Times:

  • Dorchester – Tuesday/Thursday 6-7:30pm
  • Chelsea – Monday/Wednesday 6-7:30pm

Eligibility: Boys and girls who live or go to school in Boston or Chelsea and who are entering the 3rd-8th grade
Team Placement: Rookies: 3rd-4th, Youth: 5th-6th, Juniors: 7th-8th

High School Fall Season

Fall season is 7-8 weeks long and practices are held on weeknights. We are waiting for our field permit to be confirmed but are expecting practices to be held at Moakley Park in South Boston from 5:30-7pm. Once you are registered you will receive any updates through email. You can contact Brigid Hurley, our High School Program Manager, at bhurley@metrolacrosse.com with any questions.

Winter Programs 2018

Rookie, Youth & Junior Season (3rd-8th grade)

The winter season is a 6-7 week program consisting of one lacrosse session per week in January and February. Indoor balls are used and the only equipment needed is a lacrosse stick, which will be provided to new players. Practices will be filled with drills and game variations to help players prepare for the upcoming spring season.
MetroLacrosse is in the process of confirming indoor space in both Chelsea and Dorchester (see the locations below), and will notify all registered participants as soon as we finalize the details. The below info will also be updated accordingly:

Dates: Practices are expected to start the week of Jan. 9th and run through the week of Feb. 22nd.
Times: 6:00 -7:00pm
Location: The Mary Burke Elementary School Complex in Chelsea; Melnea Cass Recreation Complex in Roxbury.
Eligibility: Boys and girls who live or go to school in Boston or Chelsea and who are currently in 3rd-8th grade.
Registration: Will open in November

 

High School Winter Workouts

This winter season consists of weekly “workouts” that will be held at the Melnea Cass Recreation Complex in Roxbury for Dorchester based participants and in Chelsea (location to be determined) for Chelsea based participants. The teams will meet once a week from 6-7:00pm to work on fitness and stick skills. Several other dates will be added as the season progresses, including workouts at other facilities and enrichment sessions.

The boy’s high school team: Will meet on Thursday evenings from 6-7:00pm.  The first session is January 12th.
The girl’s high school team: Will meet on Monday evenings from 6-7:00pm. The first session is January 9th.
Location: Melnea Cass Recreation Complex in Roxbury (120 M.L.K. Jr Blvd) for Dorchester based participants and in Chelsea (either the Williams School or Burke Elementary Complex) for Chelsea based participants.
Eligibility: Boys and girls who live or go to school in Chelsea and Boston currently in the 9th-12th grade
Registration:  Will open in November
