CIT Program
High School Participants and Alumni (Ages 15-19)
This summer, MetroLacrosse will provide employment opportunities for 10-15 teen participants through its Coaches-In-Training and MLK Summer Scholars Program. Coaches-In-Training provide lacrosse clinics to campers at various summer camps and partnering programs across Boston. The MLK Summer Scholars aspect will continue to be a part of CIT this year– this program is a professional development program that provides weekly seminars at Boston University.
You should apply to be the next Coach-In-Training and
MLK Summer Scholar!
- Learn how to be a coach and receive individual instruction on how to strengthen your teaching skills!
- Become an expert at working with children in a fast paced, active environment!
- Gain management experience as you map out coaching plans, design programs and work directly with service partners!
- Strengthen your own skills by participating in professional development workshops designed by the John Hancock Corporation at Boston University through the MLK Summer Scholars!
- Earn a summer stipend of $1,200 in eight weeks!
Who is eligible to apply?
- Current and former MetroLacrosse participants who have completed at least one Spring Season and are 15-19 years old.
- MetroLacrosse participants who demonstrate a strong level of commitment and responsibility through their attendance and RESPECT standings.
What are you committing to?
Being a Coach-In-Training and an MLK Scholar is a big commitment. The job is approximately 20 hours a week with little scheduling flexibility. CITs and MLK Scholars must be able to attend the following:
- The program runs from July 9th to August 24th
- June 25th – Press conference to kick of the MLK Scholars program (Boston University)
- Friday Seminars - MLK Scholars Seminars taking place each Friday from July 13th to August 24th from 9:00am to 11:30am.
- Attending Summer Bounce high school overnight camp August 12th-August 17th
Please note: Players who have conflicts in their schedule during training or during either session must make those clear in their application. The C.I.T. program is a full commitment, and there is little flexibility in the schedule. Your availability for the full session and training will impact the status of your application.
